  • my fan had stopped working at first too, and i had went from 1 red light to 3. but i took it apart again and noticed the thermal paste was all pushed out.so i cleaned it up again, and used two nylon washers instead of one on each side of the bolt. reapplied thermal paste again on chips and SPREAD IT EVENLY this time. i put everything together again and tried the overheat process again and my fan worked. and now my x-box worked!! if you dont get this video the first time, DONT QUIT!

  • I did all this, but when i try step 24, my fans stop when the rlod turn on. Is it normal ?.

  • i did all of this guide and it onl;y lasted about two weeks. do you think its worth doing again?>

  • @theking8701 Yes so you need the T8 and T10 drivers. Don’t get Hex bolts, get Machine ones with either a flat head or phillips slot. The metric dimensions is M5x10mm screw. If you can’t find 10mm, then anything under 14 should be okay. At Home Depot here I couldn’t find anything between 6 and 16.. so I used 16 mm long screws and had to force the heatsinks, bending them a little. It’s not a big deal if you have to do that by the way.

  • @insaneapples ok so I don’t need washers at all right, i just got some artic silver 5 thermal paste, I still need the torx t8 screwdriver or bit, and at homedepot I got the 5mm hex screws but I didn’t know how long they needed to be so I didn’t buy them

  • @theking8701 nylon washers yes. The “x-clamp” kits and guides that you see have you put the nylon washers on both sides of the board on the bolts. On the HDMI xboxs, or the newer model ones anyways (including elites), the heatsinks are smaller and need to make perfect contact with the processors. Placing the washers on the top side of the board can prevent this. So I’m saying, don’t put them on. You can put them on the bottom, sure. But they aren’t actually necessary at all.

  • @insaneapples are the nylon stoppers like the nylon washers, and do you mean dont use them on the back of the circuit board where the xclamps were

  • @theking8701 yep, just dont use nylon stoppers on the ends of the bolts. it could separate the heatsinks from the processors and not make proper contact.

  • @Goku1337 The heatsinks are smaller and sometimes the nylon stoppers they want you to put on the bottoms of the bolts are too big and separate the heatsink from the CPU/GPU. So I didn’t put those on the bottoms and made sure the bolts are tight. My 360 pro works fine now. But in terms of basics, the 360 and 360 pro are identical in nature.

  • @insaneapples i put everything back the same way i think does anyone have a pics of the inside of an Xbox360 pro

  • @insaneapples can i use this guide if i hava a hdmi 360

  • @Goku1337 it means the CPU is instantly overheating. this means when you attached the heatsink to the CPU, it wasnt put back on properly and it’s not touching the CPU and transferring the heat to the heatsink. I had to remove the rubber stoppers because my xbox is an elite and isnt built quite the same way as teh regular old 360.

  • @willsgotbeer reflow is when u heat up the motherboard in hopes of remelting loose or crappy soldering joints and also used to reshape the board in case it got warped. obviously thats not the appropriate definition but thats basically what its referred to on these rrod/e74 fixes

  • @DoItLikeKeat it varies. sometimes its a perm fix other times it isnt. i recommend lapping the heatsinks and drilling holes on the chassis where the screw heads fit that way the motherboard doesnt bow out n the heatsinks make better contact to the gpu/cpu chips

  • how long does this last?

  • I did everything but still 3 red rings after I let cool down. Then I readjusted the screws and still 3 red rings. Whats up?

  • i did everything u said to do and my xbox is still fucked

  • when i start to over heat
my fans dont stay on what does that mean

  • @TheBzeroslasher x3 u can use artic silver termal paste #5

  • Fuckin awesome! I was about to go to the dark side and get a ps3, but its time to catch up on some reach!

  • @TheBzeroslasher I had the same prob. I couldn’t find any nylon washers where I’m living right now. I ordered them from ebay. The whole tool kit. It arrived yesterday. Took me around 2 and a half hrs to do all these. And it’s working :)

  • @ThatJackAttack “WHEN I GOT TO OVER HEAT IT MY FUCKIN FAN WILL ONLY RUN FOR A LITTLE BIT!!!”
    Same problem here,
    has anyone replied to you?

  • @olsfaust17 did you find a solution? i have the same problem
    let me know man
    cheers

  • @csaschtj as long as you dont stand the xbox up then yes
