    to unscrew the bottom on the mobo u need a torx size 8 and size 10. if u do not want to get the 0031 error code after u do the x clamp fix please this. 1 mm thick nylon washer between the top and bottom of the mother board to keep the heat sink off the mobo. zinc washer top and bottom as well and my 0031 went away. The extra washers help keep it off the mobo and keep it tight to the cpu/gpu. i really hopes this helps someone so u dont have to look all over the net like i did.

    Sure sucks that it doesn’t work for some of you guys…but I’m not an electronics expert, I just followed the steps. I didn’t buy a “kit” online either, just got some screws and washers at Home Depot. After putting everything back together, I turned it on and it worked fine without the last heating step. Still working…..

    I am not blaming this guy for what happened to me, I had the two red rings on a system that was newer than the one worked on here, (looks diff inside). After I did all the steps my 2 red rings turned into 3 red rings. I am not sure if it would work on my version but my chip said made in 2008 so hope this helps people that may be in my shoes it does not work.

    I found screws and washers to do the gpu and now the xbox boots, Although the screen is multi color and flickering. Then it comes up with some message after 10 seconds it shuts down to 2 red lights and no fans. Whats going on???
