  • oh shit thats sick

  • subbed.

  • whered you get that SICK hong kong wallpaper?

  • I like your editing. Good work Mexican Nerd! :)

  • DualHead2Go??? haha sounds like a good blow job there!

  • How did you hook up the apple keyboard and magic mouse? Does the monitors provide bluetooth? If it does, i’m going to get it! (:

  • I’m just testing my Diamond BVU195 USB display adapter, it’s quite laggy but it’s awesome having 2 dell 27″ 1900×1200, the principal connected directly to the macbook (late 2008 not unibody 17″, lion)
i’m currently seeing this video in full screen and is quite smooth , instead expose it’s laggy, i haven’t switched off my graphic card (so i think they updated those drivers)

  • That’s why USB isn’t a good solution for having a third monitor, USB isn’t powerful enough to handle the display. The lag with expose for both is just because 13″ macbook pros don’t have very good Video Cards, a 17″ macbook pro would have sufficient VRam to cope with such video performance.

  • Thanks for the video, good demo on dual monitors on macbook pro!

  • Just bought the DualHEad2Go DP edition and I HATE IT. I makes one large screen instead of 2 monitors and does not work with the macbook closed. Returning tomorrow and going to this option. Have you seen any better Display Adapters since you made this vid???

  • @williamstart123456 with the new imacs since they have 2 thunderbolts , or the mac mini but the problem is its 1 HDMI and 1 thunderbolt so if its like the 27″ LED display u wont have full res. only the thunderbolt will reach the Resolution: 2560 by 1440 pixels , HDMI port with support for up to 1920-by-1200 resolution

  • asus ve278q
this is the 27″ Version of this monitor + it has DisplayPort so no need for an adapter for the macbook

  • Can you do the window slididng when windows is runnimg on the mac

  • can you play games on it?

  • Nice vid

  • @williamstart123456 Yes, you can. But each apple display costs $999. I really want to see someone produce a cheaper thunderbolt monitor. :(

  • @williamstart123456 I’ve been wondering about this too. I’ve searched non-stop for an answer and finally came to find an answer on Apple’s website after they updated it. On the Apple Website (Mac>Accessories>Apple Thunderbolt Display) it says that only the 15inch and 17inch MacBook Pros can power 2 external monitors which sucks for me because I have a 13inch. Looks like I’ll be going with this setup instead. I still wonder though if it’s a hardware issue or software issue. Probably hardware.

  • Excellent video. I just got my MacBook Pro 15 inches. Running Mac Lion, do u the USB adaptor would work.

  • thank you for making this video. I have bin trying to find out how to do this for a long time so thank you.

  • How does content run on the macbook screen while connected to the two monitors? I have a 2010 13″ pro with the Nvidia 320M as opposed to the newer 3000M’s. Do you reckon performance would be noticeably worse?

  • are u from hong kong as well?

  • @williamstart123456 Only with the 15″ and 17″ MacBook Pros.

  • @rakishi18 you can use a mini display to hdmi then use an hdmi spliter to use to then use the usb to hdmi for a third

  • @TheMexicanNerd I’ll add to my last comment, as we’re limited in characters here… With the Diamond USB adapter, you can watch full screen playback on the monitor connected to your Thunderbolt, Mini DisplayPort, or Mini DVI port. With the Matrox, you can always power down one screen, so it isn’t spanning across both. So, either is easy to work around, but I’d rather have acceleration and adequate bandwidth (which may also be the reason for the lag over USB). Can’t argue price, though…

  • @TheMexicanNerd I guess it depends on what you’re looking for, but if the Diamond USB adapter can’t handle fullscreen playback, then I can’t see how it makes any difference for two screens to be recognized as being on separate monitors or a single screen split spanned across two monitors, as all you’re doing in either case is organizing your viewspace/workspace, in which case the end result is the same or nearly so.
