  • Hey brother, is it easy to upgrade the ram on this one? I know it was simple on the early 2010 models, but wanted to know if it was the same, also a better hard drive

  • Will this run crysis 2 dx11 on ultra settings? ^^

  • Nice game, very easy to get a nice fps on, so why not go whit max graphic?

  • Games do not utilize any of the i7 specific features.
There is little to no difference in performance between the i5 and i7 Apple offers.
Top of the line i7s (extremes) are better at virtualization.

Hyperthreading is not used in most apps.

  • Playing this on my new baseline model iMac 2011 right now fucking cool

  • would this run on the bassline model on the highest?

  • @Nblue444 sorry, i realized i had Firefox running in the background so because i only have 4gb of ram Firefox was destroying my performance. i tried the new 11.8 drivers and they seem to have increased my frame rate on bfbc2 by an average of 35-40fps so im running in the clear with around 90fps on average and in the clear spots at 130fps. one thing i am disappointed about is how badly bfbc2 is coded, the amount of frame drop when you have a lot of explosions around you is not not acceptable.

  • @xremdog29x Are you running it through Windows?

  • wtf, i have a much higher end mac than u and i have it at the same settings and cannot get above 30fps. i have 3.4ghz i7 with 6970m 2gb vram and 4gb ram. what is wrong with my computer that means i cant get a higher fps.

  • This video’s great! Alas, I’ve got a problem, I was hoping you (or anyone readhing this) could help me out. I have the new 27” i7 quad-core iMac, 2GB 6970M, 16GB RAM, with 32x Win 7 on Boot Camp. The game plays great… for about 10 minutes. Then it has this strange stutter every… about 3 seconds, rendering it nigh unplayable. Do you know if there could be a reason to this? I haven’t used Windows in a while, so, please, help me out if you can. Thanks a lot!!

  • Theres no such thing as a full sized gpu in an iMac. The 2010 was a 5850m, the equivalent to a desktop 5750.

  • what is better, the 6970m from the 2011 version of the mac or the 5750 full sized pc card from the 2010 imac. there are refurbished macs selling but im not to sure if the 5750 is anywhere near as good as the 6970m.

  • @manikanofdistress Run you PS3 on it? That’s it? Why not just buy a 27″ monitor for $1700 less?

  • @Smeire1 Yes, it could run it on high without a problem.

  • @Smeire1 With native res and high settings, you might get low FPS, like high 20s and 30s. The 6970 in the iMac is mobile, its not the full card. But, generally yeah thats fine

  • @Smeire1 at 1080p im pretty sure high will be possible… if not mess around with AA and shadows as they have some impact on performace.

  • i rether upgrade the ssd on the new imacs then the ram, the ram cost 100£ to
upgrade to max (16gb) yourself but the ssd cost you more to upgrade yourself and its more complicated in my opinion….

  • @theunits3 Can you put good graphics cards in Mac’s like a Mac Pro?

  • @Smeire1 i´m sure, For BF3 MAX Settings you need a : Windows 7(64Bit) Quad Core, Minimum 3.0GHZ, Intel Core i7 and a Grapic card with 1GB

  • Do you guys think Battlefield 3 will be able to run on this 27″ iMac, with 64 players, and 1080p, with at least high settings?

    Specs:

2nd generation i7 3.4 Ghz with turbo boost to 3.8Ghz

    16GB RAM

    AMD Radeon 6970M 2GB VRAM

if it’s impossible, please tell me. I hope it’s possible though lol.

  • @ddhtran1 just look at how big the games are on google, i think mass effect 2 is about 12GB, windows 7 itself is about 15GB i think. if it was me i would put 90GB on there and put “dirt 3″ “hot pursuit” “battlefield 3 (when it comes out)” and a few others. depending on the game it will be smaller or bigger they range from about 5GB – 15GB but depends on what game, what engine and how it looks graphically and lots of other things. so just google the games you have to see the space it will use up.

  • @samm565 I´m sure that it Works on this Computer! I Mean a iMac 27 Zoll with i7, 16GB Ram, AMD RADEON 6970M HD 2GB, LED Display! 3,4GHZ! I´m realy realy sure! MAC fTw

  • @SkylarRuloff Sure, but you must install Windows!

  • @ZuesToDrinkJuice1 iMac has no 1080p :S iMac has 1440p :P

  • Is the Imac 27 good for

    Minecraft.
    The Sims 3.
    COD.
    And in/out browser gaming?
