God of War Collection for PlayStation 3

Hello and welcome to another PlayStation 3 exclusive sneak peek. This time I take a look at one of the coolest remasters ever, the God of War Collection. The God of War Collection consists of both God of War 1 and God of War 2 (plus all the bonus video footage on both games as well), all on one BluRay disc! The game now runs in 1080p @60 Frames Per Second, and looks just gorgeous! The gameplay is the same, but to see it looking so good, and to feel the gameplay running so smoothly with no screen tearing is just awesome! The graphics are great for a PS2 classic being remastered into HD. Nothing was changed from the original other than the framerate is now super smooth and the graphics run in 1080p and 2x Anti-Aliasing. It looks SUPERB! The music in God of War Collection is a masterpiece as it was on PlayStation 2. Perfectly orchestrated music accompanys all of the game and sets each stage up just perfectly. I could not ask for a better soundtrack to a game! The sound effects are identical to the PS2 version, and believe me, it sounds great! The chains flying around and slamming into the bad guys, with the sounds of the enemies being ripped apart etc.., all sound just right. The controls are exactly what you remember in God of War, but smoother now running at 60 FPS. The battle is now super smooth, and fluent. The only thing this game is missing IMO is an uncompressed PCM soundtrack, but I guess Dolby Pro Logic II is good enough. I decided to show a little of each game in …

    @ashwin1995 Probably due to the fact that it was recorded in 480i and then deinterlaced and upscaled for this video… I didn’t do much justice for this game making this video from 480i material.

    Awesome games! Personally, I think GOW3 is one of the best games ever made. A perfect finish to this amazing and epic trilogy!

    @mrwilane Actually no its not. It’s in HD now and runs much smoother as well. It makes my old PS2 versions obsolete.

    Who acts the voice of Gaia? Is it another actress in GOW 3 because I think the voice sounds a little different. But I haven’t played it for a while so I may be wrong. But they got to have changed Athena’s actress.
    They also changed the gods appearance a lot which I find strange.

    @yeehaw789 well, editing the graphics isn’t easy, they would have to remake all the game. anyway, Graphics isn’t everything.gow 2 hasn’t great graphics as gow 3 but both are awesome

    @rtntb It’s definitely worth purchasing to play GOW in HD. The storyline is awesome, and yes, you need to see it before playing GOW3, no doubt about it.

    I want to get this before buying GoW 3, because I havent played GoW2 yet, only the first one, so is this really worth buying, or should I buy just the GoW 3 ?

    @raggsvettma Thanks for agreeing with me then too. Also, there were a few other ideas that I’ve had in mind from before too. If they ever release any other great collection sets again for the PS3 just like they did with The GOW Collection, they should probably release something like a re-mastered GH collection set consisting of the original GH, GH II, and GH Encore: Rocks the 80′s for PS2 re-released for PS3 in HD or maybe something like a MGS collection set for PS3 just like the one for PS2.

    I wouldn’t say no to that, sir. :) I hope Sony’s goin’ to plan something like it in the future. Especially the MGS games, it’s hard to play nowadays cuz the low resolution.

    Great video and great collection set again too. Now maybe the next thing they might possibly try to do next is release PS2 games now on PSN at the PlayStation Store for downloadable gameplay too on the PS3 and PSP systems just like they did with PS1 games. I wonder if that would ever be possible and if so, that would probably rock.

    @raggsvettma You know, I haven’t thought about that at first either, but I think that sounds like a great idea too. I think that would be so cool if there was ever some sort of Kingdom Hearts collection set for the PS3 console too. That would be so awesome and I already had a few other ideas in mind too for the PS3 such as a GH collection set and other great collection sets too such as MGS, RE, or GTA. Now that would really be something and I’m sure those collection sets would be so awesome.

    @Fakk28 Yeah. Me too and that’s too bad that it’s not going to happen either. That would’ve been so cool though if you were able to earn trophies too in some of the older PS3 games such as MGS4, GTA IV, GT5: Prologue, or any of the other older games. That would’ve been so awesome. They only do that now though for the more recent PS3 games and they’ve also done it already with some PS3 games so far such as RE5, GOW III, The GOW Collection, GH: Smash Hits, GH5, and many other recent titles.
